  14. good observation boss fang , reason why birds flying high is due to the new power desire sound , the lust sound successful aroused and hypnotist this swiftlet so stay longer to the sound source .. which also successfully resulted the black cloud crowd effect .. very interesting. in addition I can assured the birds mushrooming my bh is definitely more than my own birds... :)

    2. There are few methods to breakdown this birds.

For internal - you can try to install a dummy internal entrance or you can also call it internal pooling entrance .. this method really helps to tell whether there are any new birds stay over at the end of the days. normally your own birds will not stick to this tweeter but new birds will .

As for external observation, if you have more than one entrance hole you will notice this type of flying trend, own birds will just dive in or maybe cycling your hexagon or fly around chasing each other, but new birds they normally like to dive from the sky, circling your bh and try to understand your entrance hole, as the result they tend to fly in and fly out - if you bh come with good entrance and exit chances of getting new birds higher. when they are in your bh new birds will tend to fly from one nesting room to another. My bh come with 10 nesting room exactly like 10 rooms , which make me easier to tell.
Note: own birds very seldom travelling from one room to another for fun unlike new visitor they just dive from one to another.

As for birds circling the sky chasing each other , obviously it is because you selected some good desire or mating sound in malay they call it birahi , this type of sound normally trigger the lust excitement. So how to tell which is our own and which is new? my simple observation will be just wait till the sun down, for my location will be around 6.45pm - visitors birds will start heading back to their home , own birds should be rushing back to your bh and the one already playing around your bh should be prepared to dive in to your insect area for their dinner.

Try to do some simple data reading by counting how many birds head to north , east , west and south , gather 1 weeks data then you will know... For my case, i notice birds only head west and north so what i did was i install a power magnet tweeter facing this 2 specific location (volume not necessary need to be loud), purpose to create a flying path and the results is satisfying enough to ensure consistent crowds.. Something you might want to consider.

THis is just my thoughts may not be the most accurate, end of the day the best method is still do internal birds cctv counting.. If your bh cctv system come with entrance hole counting .
