Project Objective
- to understand how swiftlet respond in the afternoon?
- Also to understand what swiftlet normally do in the sky , especially hot weather like March?
- Three Level Consideration - Outside / Inside bh Responds & New Birds Stay overnight
Project Requirement :
- at least 1 Horn Tweeter Facing 90 degrees straight to the sky (preferable compressor driver tweeter)
Note: To avoid Tweeter overheat try using v-cool windscreen plastic to cover your beloved tweeter.
- To obtain the best result try using Hexagon Tweeter for your bh if Possible .
Note: Most of wiki's sound is created in line with hexagon tweeter sound
- Test 1 : volume 50% / time from morning till evening
- Test 2 : Volume 50% / Time from Morning till 5pm
- Test 3 : Volume 40% / Time based on Birds Responds
Starter Kits

Deleteas for suara hala langit (90 degrees facing sky) from my observation, although i am getting more birds responding to my bh but they tend to fly around chasing each other, as expected due to the mating sound, Which is actually something need to look into haha (worried some of your swiftlets eventually end up in other ppl bh)
in terms of sound level as usual hexagon louder than entrance hole and suara hala langit try loud volume in the afternoon and once respond is good try softer volume.
If having 3 sounds for external is too much for you u can just try suara hala langit for hexagon.
I will come out with v2 version hopefully this new version can perform a better results.
All in all, i hope the 2 sounds i shared can provide the same results like what i am getting for my location cheers..
Hi Wiki boss, I tested the sound extraordinary wave from 9am-1am (sunny day) but none respond. I saw some birds fly around the tree but not approaching my BH. As my BH is locate at none-prime zone, so I will test out the sound again this weekend, but this time i will do it in the afternoon time maybe after 4pm. I might need to perform this few time before i can come out with the result...
Deleteew is a pooling sound it is created to attract birds to play surrounding your bh... you should tryout till the evening i am sure you will eventually like this sound .. However if your existing sound is currently attracting birds in the afternoon session then u should not consider changing.

Ok, I will use EW as pooling sound for the hexagon tower with KGOD as entrance hole sound. I really wish to capture some shocking video to show u, let me try it out again this weekend...
DeleteHi Wiki boss, I tested the sound again at my uncle BH and the sound is powerful and birds like it very much... I realize the problem come from my BH tweeter quality la... I use Audax61 as external and DIY hexagon tower with same type of tweeter... That type of tweeter cannot play the sound too loud, I decided to change out those tweeters soon... The tweeter really give a big different in sound quality... Thanks boss, becoz of ur sound i realize my BH problem... Haha!! Any suggestion on what type of good tweeter I should use in order to play out the EW with best Quality??
DeleteLook for a compressor driver magnet tweeter.. if u get from a consultant sometimes it may cost you up to rm 100 .. but if u get from the right source it is just only RM 60 .. :) Good luck

Playing from 3PM to 6:45PM but I can see more birds after 6PM. I got 2 video with me but I dunno how to send you. 1 video is I think is old bird circling the tower and another video is new bird playing at entrance hole... however, those bird play a while only then gone but later on birds come again... I'm very happy can see birds chasing around around my BH but I dunno whether they will stay over night or not... I'm wondering if I can play both sound for full day??? I only use that sound when I at BH, I put back old sound after i leave. Pls advice.
Based on my experience and data gathered , i can assured you changing sound will not affect your existing birds, but will makes your existing birds more excited / curious to spend more time within your bh coverage.
DeleteThe pros will be in long period more and more birds will gather around your bh eventually they might consider as their new gathering point. If u are lucky you might capture some new couples too stay overnight , and eventually make your bh as their new home.
As for the cons, normally applied to sound with hungry baby calling sound , having such content in your sound is not necessary 100% bad or wrong . However, if the method using this sound is wrong the result can be quite disheartening without you even realising it.
OH well, the cons is definitely not my choice of sound, i am sure none of us as the owner of our bh would want to do such thing to our own bh...

Honestly, yes you can play 2 different sound for you external and the combination of EH1 & EW is definitely safe.
However my advise is try not to change your entrance hole sound if you are already using a good entrance hole Sound, same goes to your flying path sound (bazooka).
As for hexagon, yes you can change this sound. Considering we have not much options, somewhere down the road i am sure we will want to change some part of our bh sound. :)
The decision is yours my dear friend.. only you can tell the difference between your existing sound and the potential sound you have in mind. Follow your instinct.
Note: there is no miracle swiftlet sound. but there are always new swiftlet sound. As long as the sound is properly selected and recorded then it is a good swiftlet sound.

DeletePls tell us more about flying path sound for bazooka. What sound is suitable for this application?
Currently i use all SE sounds on random at my bazooka. But thru my observation, i think not all SE sounds are equally effective to attract birds at my place. At my place they particularly prefer EW and track 1. But i need to monitor closely again for some more time. i might b wrong due to observation for only few days.

Flying path sound !! interesting question, for me i am not using any special flying path sound , just using the the same old sound where i started.. Reason whenever i changed this sound i can tell some of my existing birds tend to fly back late.

Have u tested the SE v42 ? my place the results is quite welcoming , maybe because of the unique sound recording..
Again, vietnam birds is so much more naive compared to the malaysian & indonesia Swiftlets ... Best part in vietnam best tweeter always win.

Hi Wiki boss, from your advice... Is this what you mean that we only change hexagon tower sound more frequent compare to the entrance hole sound? I already changed the hexagon and entrance hole tweeter to horn tweeter, the sound is loud and powerful... I maintain the EH1+EW sound since last saturday, waiting to c the good result this coming weekend... Oh ya, may I know is all the SE consider as pooling sound??

DeleteBoss wiki, Today I tested Hala Langit , I am not sure it is the EW or Super Extraordinary Track no2 but the result is really interesting. What i did was I position the track in sequence Track no 2 - Ew - Track No 2 - Hala Langit x3 - EW . My Observation result Hala langit really makes the birds so exited time 5pm - 5.35pm. Overall I am pleased with the results. Thumb Up!

the "show was over" within less than 30mins. My area is in plantation of palm oil & rubber trees. Also disappointed to inform Wiki that the sound recording/quality of Suara Hala Langit is so "terrible" it is not appealing to human ears at all, but do not know wheather the birds like it or not....look like the birds got frightened away...
OMG .. just for your info, suara hala langit was created base on really classic powerful sound.. Agreed v1 really need some tune up, too much echo compared to the sound recorded in present days, btw the file i send u is it the same as the one in this blog ? :) however i also notice birds responded like when u play redwave 2 .. Anyway don't worry i hope v2 is a better version. will do more test before release v2 version at the moment still selecting the right loop.. As for ew you should try consider let it play in the evening , this sound had undergo many testing back in 2011 (most of the good loop wiki had extracted into colonypooling .. :)

I hav tried using Extraordinary Premiere Track No.2 (Pooling) this evening at my bh’s bazooka. Im very satisfied with the result. The sound drawed many birds to come play whereas my other expensive sounds all fail to attract birds recently.
My bh is near coastal area. Only few months old. Hope to improve it. Not many birds at my area. If the sound is not right its like a dead town. But if the sound is right, the birds come out from nowhere.

Extraordinary sound is different compared to ew & hala langit because , we have fine tune super Extraordinary collection like 50 times.. believe it or not SE have like 50 version in my collection , EW is part of it. As for Hala Langit this is a new project whereby wiki is trying to compared oldiest compared to new ones , Hopefully wiki will be able to revive the oldiest to be as good as new ones . The good thing about having a new project discussion is we always get interesting feedback and that is obviously how we will be able to progress. Cheers (check your email for the both sound)

Btw, i found that Extraordinary Track 1 is more effective than Track 2 in my area. The birds seemed to be more excited when reacting to Track 1.

I am confused, so many our friends, even you have the videos that SE is very good sound. I wonder if there is something with my BH or my sound equipments. DeleteYou bh & Amplifier may not be the main reason why you are not getting the best out of SE is merely because most of them are using a different version of SE as compared to the one shared in wiki's blog which is the very early version of SE(Very much Super AAA & bukit Jenun from). SE Project had progressed so far ahead and it is a very overall sound especially for all super AAA lovers :).
Another reason may be the type of tweeters you are using for you bh because, I have tested so many good tweeters but there are one tweeter really different compared to others, results is really extraordinary :) ( Try do more research in tweeters you won't regret) . Btw u can also consider compressor driver tweeter it is also very good.
Since your bh is still new, consider my advise use Super AAA and all his fellows musketeers like victory, SE and etc. u can loop all this sound or play it randomly or even introduce one at a time . Try not to be 2 discourage by the numbers of birds responding to your sound, try observe the numbers of birds stay overnight instead. i am sure you will be a very happy person . Once you achieve 100 birds then u can try something more exciting like changing power sound for your bh. Always remember all of us start from 0 birds, in order to achieve the 1st 100 birds obviously you need to think out of the box.

After testing with bazooka, both Hala Langit and EW can draw big group of birds. But at my area, i see that EW is very much effective than HL if we look at the level of excitement of the birds.
But if i play both HL and EW with bazooka, the birds only circle and play above sky high up. They seemed to ignore or forget about the entrance hole. Mayb volume of bazooka too high? i tried turning it down, but still birds got less interested to attack entrance hole.
But if played with hexagon, EW is very good for gathering. Birds will enter entrance hole unlike if used on bazooka.
Im using same entrance sound for both hexagon and bazooka tests.
Once again thank u Boss Wiki for sharing these great sounds. Overjoyed to see improvements at my bh after few months of dead scenario.

Totally Agreed with you walet boy .. HL v1 & v2 version really need more improvement.. Wiki is facing the same problem, Birds prefer to play around the sky instead of attacking the entrance hole.

EW is good Gathering sound but in terms of birds stay overnight SE is far more reliable. Try consider one of SE sound for your evening session.. U can use EW for 3pm - 6.30pm and 6.30pm onward try using any of SE sounds instead.

It's very good as well. Sometimes the birds get in quickly, but some others get in slowly. I am very satisfied, your theory's absolutely right.

ReplyDeletePls advise me on SEv52 sound. Its my second evening playing this sound. For this sound i play starting 6pm on hexagon.
Birds responded well to this sound as well. But this sound is sort of different from other SE sounds.
Birds tend to circle closer to sound source when this sound is played. But they tend to circle and chase higher in the sky when playing other SE sounds.
Boss Wiki, is my current method of playing SEv52 suitable? on hexagon and on last time slot (6pm onwards) until swiftlets return home?

yes u can slot this sound starting 6pm onwards .. u can also consider using this sound for 12pm till 2pm , again it depends to your own strategy to attract the birds into yout bh.. If u notice SE project sound is actually very interesting , most of the sound have it own purpose unlike other sound where all sound is mix together.
ReplyDeleteThe reason i come up with this sound method is because, i don't believe in all in one sound technique claimed by most consultant. Bird don't sing the same sound everyday and worst they sing different sound every part of the day. Again there is no right or wrong just everyone have their own style.
In brief, observe how your area birds respond to sound using the tier technique and from there you can then try to slot the sound u like most accordingly. you will be surprised once you understand your swiftlet rhythm in your area, you can easily attract the birds as you like. ALways remember never try to force the birds entering your bh and only attract them in when the time is right.
Note: our BH is not as attractive as sunway lagoon theme park or genting highland theme park , but we always have the sound to call for the rave party.

Another thing i like to share today is , always try to observe the moon, Use wheather Forecast .. I am sure every one of us face problem like suddenly birds not responding to our sound in the morning and afternoon but in the evening the respond is like BEEs. The truth is you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteFor me, i always see this as the best time for attracting new birds into my bh , this is the moment where all bh is set to equal mode. Best sound wins unlike the normal day best crowd wins .
In addition, the best method to understand how your sound perform is obviously by spying your nearby bh , try check out they afternoon session and compare with yours.
Note: most established bh with nests will have birds flying in and out , it is just the matters of how many birds ! 1 kilo of nesting birds you will probably see about 30 to 60 birds. :)

very likely the sound you are using already expired :)
DeleteMorning session may be your own birds as for afternoon session, very likely birds just come and go , excluding your own birds .. as for evening session also your own birds plus some new birds interested in your bh..
Maybe it is time to try some new booster sounds for your BH .
Note : now and then remember to check your hexagon tweeters , for the last 2 weeks my hexagon is giving me a lot of problems due to hot weather.

ReplyDeleteSound name : EW 002 (vividwave Sound Technique)
Length : 1 hr 02 mins
Description : 6 new pooling loops + ft 10 mins wk4
Note: never been tested before
Remarks : original ew002 approx. 52 mins. Wiki will test this sound tomorrow anyone would like to test out this sound ?
Note: Please be prepared to expect the worst. if we are lucky we might come across with extreme breakthrough.. this is definitely off the record sound.. Expected time to see best result 11am till evening or none. opss :) subject to normal weather condition.

ReplyDeleteI have a small BH (around 100m2)which equiped with good sound player systems (including changing by time). I am ready to test all your invention and will respond the out come for your research.
Before I've lost a big amount of money to obtained hot sound from different sifu, but they seem outdated and some have effectiveness, but they not last for more than a week.

ReplyDeleteI have just set up a Decibel meter for my smart phone. However, I still do not know how to check sound level with this. Normally in my office which is quite quiet, the meter showed 30Db, 0% and 200-300 DAV. I would be grateful if you could guide us to use this gadget.Tks
